Avelo Airlines is a new ultra low-cost carrier that launched in 2021 and is quickly expanding across the United States. When booking flights on Avelo, it's important to understand their cancellation and change policies in case your travel plans shift.

Avelo's Cancellation Policy

Avelo offers two different fare options - Standard Fares and Unbundled Fares. The cancellation policy differs depending on which type of fare you book:

Standard Fares

If you book a Standard fare ticket on Avelo, changes and cancellations are allowed without a fee up to 24 hours after the booking is made.

• If you cancel within 24 hours of booking, you will receive a full refund to the original form of payment.

• If you cancel after 24 hours, cancellation fees apply which start at $29 per passenger.

Unbundled Fares

Avelo's Unbundled fares are the airline's discounted ticket option. The major downside is that these fares are completely non-refundable and non-changeable.

• If you cancel an Unbundled fare for any reason, you will not receive a refund or future travel credit. The entire ticket is forfeited.

So when booking an Avelo flight, think carefully about whether you may need to adjust your schedule. The Standard fare offers much more flexibility for just a small premium over the Unbundled price.

Change and Cancellation Fees

If you booked a Standard fare and need to cancel or make a change more than 24 hours after booking, Avelo chargeschange and cancellation fees which vary based on the timing:

• More than 7 days before departure: $29 fee

• Between 3-7 days before departure: $59 fee

• Less than 3 days before departure: $99 fee

In addition to the per passenger fee based on timing, if you do cancel you will be issued a credit for future travel rather than a refund. Credits are valid for 60 days from the date they were issued.
